“Staging Youth’s Fight against Juvenile Diabetes”

Houston, Texas – Masquerade Theatre’s Senior Company will perform The Music Man on the evening of January 22 and the afternoon of January 23 benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

“I am elated”, says Phillip Duggins, the artistic director of Masquerade Theatre, “that our senior youth company is staging this benefit for such a deserving charity, which is dedicated to finding a cure for juvenile diabetes. I find it admirable that these performers wish to donate their time to this important cause. Those attending the show can enjoy supporting the JDRF while being greatly entertained by some of the area’s finest up-and-coming talent.  There will also be a couple of cameo appearances that will add a little surprise to this great show.”

“We are excited about Masquerade’s support of our mission to find a cure through research for this terrible disease”, says Kathy Knott, Executive Director of the Houston Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The shows will be staged at the newest state-of-the-art theatre in the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area – The Stafford Center for the Performing Arts.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 713-861-7045 or on the internet at www.masqueradetheatre.com.

Masquerade Theatre is a non-profit musical theatre dedicated to providing quality, professional musical productions for theatre patrons in the Houston metropolitan area; recruiting and retaining exceptionally talented professional actors in the Houston area, maintaining a forum for development of youth talented in musical theatre and reaching out to the youth in the community who might not otherwise experience the enjoyment of the performing arts.
